Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo Review (with Video)
There’s nothing better than seeing my baby smile. I knew that a jumper would give me plenty of smiles to enjoy. But which option was best for my baby? I really wanted to purchase a jumper that would not just keep my baby entertained but also engaged physically and mentally. When I saw the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. But before I handed over my credit card, I took a little time to discover the details about the jumper’s design and what I could expect. Come with me as I explain this fabulous jumper in detail and decide if it’s the right option for your child as well.
Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo
What captivated me first about the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo is hard to say. That’s because there was so much going on that my eyes had a difficult time settling in one spot. I couldn’t imagine how exciting it would look through my baby’s eyes. Upon closer examination, I fell in love with the jungle theme. I also loved how there were toys not just around the seat but also above it. I knew that no matter where my baby looked, he would be encouraged to reach, learn, and discover.
I wanted my baby to have a jumper for a few reasons. First, I knew that a jumper would help my baby get out his excess energy. He’s trying to crawl but he’s not quite there yet and I see how frustrated he gets. So a jumper is perfect for working out those little leg muscles without the tears. Also, I’ll admit that I wanted a jumper because I knew it would buy me at least a few minutes of sitting on the couch without having to hold him. Every parent needs a short break here and there.
I was confident that the Fisher-Price jumper would fulfill my wish list and more. But then I wondered if I was basing my decision on purely aesthetics. As I continued my research into the jumper though, I realized there was much more to it than what met the eye.
Does My Baby Need This Many Toys on a Jumper?
I was worried about choosing a jumper with so many toys included. After all, does a baby really need all of those extras? But then I learned why it’s so important for babies to have a variety of toys to develop their motor skills. Toys enable a baby to explore the world in a safe and fun manner. They help to improve coordination and begin to teach babies about cause and effect and other important lessons. They also encourage independence and imagination.
I think it was normal for me to worry about overstimulating my baby. But I know him better than anyone and he hasn’t come across a toy yet that he didn’t want to examine up close. So once I stopped worrying about the variety of toys included with the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo, it became even more clear that it was the perfect jumper for my child.
I’ve already covered some of the visual features of the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo so let me take a moment to focus on some of the features that aren’t as obvious. For example, the jumper’s design is all about comfort and safety. The seat rotates but in order to keep baby’s fingers safe, the springs are covered with soft fabric. There are three height positions so you’re sure to find one that’s comfortable and supportive for your little one.
One of the best surprises with this jumper is that it’s easy to move and store. All you have to do is fold the jumper in half and you can easily carry it from room to room. If you have a larger car, it will fit perfectly in the back seat or trunk for travel. This feature also saves me room when the jumper isn’t in use, which any parent is sure to appreciate.
Oh, where do I start? There are so many positive features included in this jumper. Take a look for yourself.
- Encourages healthy development through bright colors and fun music
- Includes a motion sensor that rewards jumpers with lights and sounds when they move
- Folds for easy storage
- Promotes eye-hand coordination with overhead toys
- Stand-alone jumper that doesn’t require a door frame or extra pieces
- Variety of textures encourage exploration
- Rotating seat helps encourage movement even when baby isn’t jumping
It was difficult coming up with a list of negatives regarding this jumper. But there are a few things I wish were different.
- Some babies might find the number of activities overwhelming
- Music can become repetitive
- Seat is too wide for some babies

See how cute this jumper is in action! Can’t you see your little one enjoying it?
Don’t think that I jumped the gun when making my decision. I considered several other jumpers before making my purchase. For example, I almost went with the Evenflo ExerSaucerJump and Learn Stationary Jumper, Jam Session. It also had several toys and plenty of ways to keep my baby busy. But I just wasn’t as sold on the design.
I also looked at the Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby. But I wanted my baby to really be able to take off. The Bright Starts is a more compact jumper and I thought it might limit his movements. The more jumpers I looked at, the more obvious it became that I was making the right decision with the Fisher-Price jumper.
The first few minutes my baby spent in his new jumper were absolutely magic. The smile on his face lit up the room and his eyes didn’t know what to focus on first. I spend most mornings sitting next to him while he jumps and explores. I use the jumper as a teaching opportunity by pointing out colors, shapes, and animals. I’ve really been cherishing the time he’s spending in his jumper because I know it won’t be long before he’s on the move by himself. Don’t let this exciting time pass you by. Get the Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo and enjoy exploring with your baby on their level.
